Jim Miller (GA)

Mr. Jim Miller served as the Kairos of Georgia, State Chairman in 2008 and 2009. In mid-2010 he was elected to the Kairos Board of Directors and invited to be the Chairman of the recently formed Human Resources Committee.  Although it was not yet clear to him, Mr. Miller’s Kairos journey began in 1997 when he and his wife Karen experienced a Cursillo Walk in Santa Rosa, California.

They wanted to get involved but did not really recognize the how, when and where. It all became very clear when they took early retirement and relocated to Georgia in 2000 to be with their daughter and grandchildren. The first couple they met at their new church asked if they had ever heard of Kairos.

Mr. Miller became a Kairos volunteer in 2001 at Hays State Prison in Trion, Georgia. In the seven years prior to becoming State Chairman he served in many positions on the Hays Advisory Council including Institution Liaison and Weekend Leader.

“I have learned a great deal about myself while serving as a volunteer in Kairos. My 30 years in business management have been beneficial but I acknowledge that I would have been a better person and a better leader if I could have experienced Kairos earlier in my life.  I now know for certain that the Lord blessed me with some skills that I will now use to be a useful servant in His ministry.”
